Liberto S. Timoteo 1938-2010

It is with much sadness that we share with you the news that our long-time secretary, Liberto "Lee" Timoteo, has passed away on Monday morning.

Lee was more than just a man who loved the game of soccer. He was a kind-hearted, compassionate man who brought a great deal of dignity to his position as secretary. He always adhered to the rules, and was never shy to recite the by-laws of our organization when the moment warranted it.

Moreover, he had a great appreciation for the history of soccer here in New England. Before every induction ceremony, he could easily be found perusing the numerous photos, articles, and artifacts of yesteryear on display, and could probably tell a story about each. He was a man who knew pretty much all there was to know about soccer.

In recent years, Lee's health began to deteriorate, but remained a regular attendee of our meetings. His courage and determination inspired us, and his candor and wittiness always left us smiling.

Our beloved friend will be missed very dearly. Please click here for more information regarding the memorial services planned for Lee.
